Fieldwork investigations

Please click on the investigation links to the left to see resources for each geographical area.   Alternatively you can select an area to explore and location by using the box to the left.

  • Croyde Bay is aimed at KS2 into KS3 and focuses on the issue of where to site a new car park within a honeypot site.
  • Saunton Sands is aimed at KS3 with a range of coastal erosion, transportation and deposition exercises.
  • Northam Burrows is a KS4 investigation focusing on Coastal Processes within the area and the need for coastal management.
  • Braunton Burrows East and West is one KS5 investigation looking at sand dune succession.  The west transect should be done prior to the east. 
  • Rockham Beach is aimed at KS3 focusing on beach transects.
